MAATRAAN AND ENDHIRAN ARE SIMILAR?

There are reports doing rounds that the storylines of Matraan and Endhiran are quite similar. According to sources in the tinsel town, Suriya plays dual roles in Matraan and both Suriyas fall in love with Kajal. The Rajinikanth starrer Endhiran also had a similar storyline with both the Rajinis falling for Aishwarya Rai.

However, director KV Anand has refused to disclose any details about this project. Matraan is produced by Kalpathi Agoram’s AGS Entertainment. Music is by Harris Jayaraj.

OKOK audio launch on Feb 24

Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Oru Kal Oru Kannadi [OK OK] will launch its audio on 24th February and the team is in search of venue.

Harris Jayraj is gearing up for the grand audio release of Udhayanidhi Stalin, Hansika and Santhanam starring OK OK. M.Rajesh’s directorial is all set to launch its audio on this 24 and the team is busy in venue hunt. The successful director, who has given hit comedy movies to Tamil industry namely Siva Manasula Sakthi and Boss Engira Bhaskaran, is waiting for hattrick-hit with his upcoming release Oru Kal Oru Kannadi.

Oru Kal Oru Kannadi is produced by producer turn actor Udhayanidhi Stalin under his Red Giant Movies, which has cinematography by Balasubramaniem.

Arulnidhi's big half - century!

Arulnidhi's Mounaguru directed by Shantakumar and with Iniya playing the heroine is the sleeper hit of 2011 and has successfully completed 50 days. Critics have been very appreciative about the film and the cast and crew have come in for a lot of praise.

Shantakumar had assisted Dharani in the past and has made an impact with his first film itself. Now a lot is expected from him for his next film. Arulnidhi and Iniya have also earned a good name for themselves with solid performances.

Is Aishwarya Rai returning to films?

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has no plans of returning to films anytime soon as she has her hands full with her baby daughter. Proud papa, Abhishek Bachchan revealed that she refused to hire a nanny and insists on taking care of the baby herself. The actress has been staying up all  night to attend to the infant and feeds, bathes and massages the baby herself.

Abhishek said that he has not seen her happier and she does not miss films in the least. She is enjoying motherhood to the fullest and has no intention of concentrating on anything other than her daughter at present.

Silambarasan’s latest fan!

Silambarasan's latest fan in the film industry is Deeksha Seth. The actress says that she is a huge Silambarasan fan and does not miss seeing his films. It was Deeksha’s desire to share the screen space with the star at least once and her dream has come true now.

Deeksha, who was seen in the Vikram starrer Rajapattai, will be paired opposite Silambarasan in Vettai Mannan. Though Hansika plays an important role in this film, it is Deeksha who is paired opposite the star. Well, that’s surely the reward for being the star’s fan!

MUK rubbing shoulders with Nanban

The team of Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal is on a real high. The anticipation around the film is touching unprecedented high in business circles. The movie, touted to release quite dramatically on Valentine’s Day weekend, as of now, has been charted into 252 release centres in Tamil Nadu. The enormity of this number can be gauged from the fact that Nanban had released in 268 centres on January 12. Thus, the reception that  MUK is now receiving is nothing short of awesome for a film featuring a hero who is just one film old. With such a wide release, Atharva and his heroine Amala Paul are surely set to go several notched higher with MUK. Debut director Elred Kumar too is set to have quite a high flying start to his career. A lot of the excitement surrounding the movie is being attributed to the chartbusting music scored by G.V.Prakash Kumar which has been a rage ever since its release. Also, the fact that MUK carries the banner of RS Infotainment, a production house that has given hugely popular movies like KO and VTV, has worked as an added advantage. 

In fact, the Valentine weekend is a momentous one for RS Infotainment as they will have both MUK and Ekk Deewana Tha (the Hindi version of VTV) releasing on the same day. 

The rights for MUK all over Tamil Nadu have been snapped up by four major distributors who went for the film after watching it. it is reported that they compared the Atharva-Amala combination to the evergreen combinations like Kamal-Sridevi and Rajni-Sripriya. They also made quite a nostalgic comparison of father and son; stating that while Murali was renowned for his soft romantic films, his son looks to be going one step further with romance. 

With such a grand reception on the business front, MUK is all set to make Valentines Day special for the Tamil box office.

Suriya’s next with Venkat Prabhu

Suriya’s next has been confirmed. He will be teaming up with director Venkat Prabhu and the film will be produced by Muktha Entertainment Pvt Ltd. Venkat Prabhu’s Mankatha starring Ajith and Trisha took a grand opening last year and the director’s status went up with this film.

There are a lot of expectations to know the star cast and the genre of this film. All details will be revealed very soon, say sources. In the mean time, Venkat is preparing to get the project on the floors as soon as Suriya returns from Matraan.

I may use the wrong words- Rajini

Superstar Rajinikanth has taken a liking to attend public events these days as he was seen at the event organized by Uyirmai Publications to honour writer S Ramakrishnan for winning the Iyal Virudhu, Lifetime Literary Achievement Award from Tamil Literary garden of Toronto.

Rajinikanth attended the function as a mark of respect to S Ramakrishnan who was not only the script writer for his film Baba but also has penned the biography of the superstar that is due to be released later this year.

Speaking at the event, Rajini revealed that he does not know to write in Tamil though he has learnt to speak in many languages. The actor also said that he is scared to address a gathering of Tamil scholars as he is not well versed in the language and may use the wrong words.

Nayan with Ajith?

Prabhu Deva and Nayanthara have parted ways. There is news that Nayanthara has started accepting films. The last Tamil film in which she had acted was Boss Engira Baskaran. That film was a super hit. In spite of this Nayanthara has stopped accepting Tamil films. She had acted in a Telugu film in which she donned the role of Seetha. She had accepted this film because she had committed this film earlier. After this she quit acting.

 Now there is news that Nayanthara has been approached to pair with Ajith in a film to be directed by Vishnuvardhan. Vishnuvardhan has mentioned, "We have spoken to Nayanthara but nothing has been finalized yet." Her acting with Ajith in Billa was appreciated very much by the audience.

 The crew says that she will definitely act in this film. Nayan has already been signed for a Telugu film which has Nagarjuna in the lead role. It is understood that she has been paid Rs 1.25 Crores as salary.

Meghna walks out of Karthi’s film

Meghna had walked out of Karthik’s film. Karthi is donning the lead role in the film directed by Suraj. Anushka, Nikitha, Meghna and Sanusha are the four heroines of this film. Meghna who had agreed to be a part of this film has all of a sudden quit this film.

When asked Meghna about this, she said, "It is true that I had quit the film directed by Suraj. I was not satisfied by the role given to me. Since the director is a good friend of mine he gave me the opportunity to express my views. I told him that I was not satisfied with my role and wanted to quit this film. He understood my feeling and accepted my acquiescence.

He told me that we will join hands in another film. Currently I am acting in Malayalam films. I am waiting for a good role in Tamil films. Talks are going on with some directors. If I get a good script I will act in it."

Arrangements are being made for Sneha-Prasanna’s marriage

Marriage arrangements for Prasanna- Sneha are going on in top gear. Next week the betrothal function is going to be held in the traditional way. It is understood that the marriage will take place during the month of April.

The date of the marriage has also been fixed. The marriage will be taking place in a star hotel in Teynampet. The banquet hall and rooms have already been booked. The marriage sari for Sneha is to be purchased in Kanchipuram. Marriage jewels have already been ordered in a famous jewelry shop in T Nagar. Selection for the invitation cards are going on.

There was news that Sneha would quit acting after her marriage, but Prasanna has denied this news. Prasanna while speaking about this has mentioned, "Sneha is a talented actress. I do not want her to be idle after marriage. She can act after her marriage. I will not interfere."

Sneha has been signed for the film Kochadaiyan. She is donning the role of Rajnikanth’s sister in this film. It is understood that she will complete her scenes in this film before the marriage.

Vijayakanth’s son to become a hero

Actor and politician Vijayakanth has two sons by name Vijay Prabhakaran and Shanmuga Pandian. The elder son Vijay Prabhakaran is studying B E (architect) at S R M Engineering College in Chennai. The youngest son Shanmuga Pandian is studying B SC Visual Communications, First year at Loyola College. Shanmuga Pandian while studying in the college has got the opportunity to act in a film.

Vijayakanth while speaking about this said, "Among my two sons, the younger one is interested to act in films, because of this, he is learning dancing and fighting. We have decided to produce a film on our own which will have my son Shanmuga Pandian in the lead role. I have four stories in my hands. I will select one of the stories among them and produce it. I will be making a guest appearance in this film.

The film will be directed by another director. The selection for the director is going on. I have planned to direct another film. Both the sons are my wife’s pet. I will be little strict. They will approach me through their mother for any matter. There will be no problem between the two sons. Both of them are cordial. The younger son will listen to whatever the elder one says. If we buy any material, the younger will ask my eldest son to open and give it to him. Only after getting his brother’s nod, the younger one is coming to act."

Reema Sen to get married on 11th March

After Aayirathil Oruvan, Reema Sen did not act in any film. She shook her legs with Shriya and Vikram for a song Rajapattai. For a long time Reema and Shiv Karan Singh were in love. Since Reema did not act in films, there was news that both of them will be getting married soon.

Reema Sen said that they will not get married so soon and she will announce her marriage date later. Now there is confirmed news that their marriage will take place on 11th March. Betrothal and other functions are to be held in the farm house owned by Shiv Karan.
